St. Paul's Episcopal Church

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located in the heart of the historic district in Summerville, SC.  The existing church facilities were not enough to accommodate the growing congregation and a master plan was required to direct the church expansion while respecting and maintaining the character of the existing facilities and historic district.

In close collaboration with Thomas Denzinger Architects, a plan was created which arranged the specific program elements across the site.  A new education building and fellowship hall were added to the site creating a campus which includes a multipurpose courtyard, entry gardens, and playground space.  New parking lots and drop off areas were also included in the design.  The entire campus was pulled together with walkways and landscaping typical of the historic district.
